Description and Specifications

The QUICKER FLOW T100 performs washing, drying and illumination in a single cycle, eliminating material waste and improving the quality of printing molds. Precise regulation of parameters such as brush speed, water pressure and UV LED intensity ensures repeatability and high quality.

A full cycle takes only 5-10 minutes, and the built-in UV LED lamp speeds up illumination. The machine is ready for operation as soon as it is started, which increases work efficiency. A transport system minimizes the risk of damage, and automatic process control guarantees the highest quality of dies. Efficiency, economy and reliability. QUICKER FLOW100 processor for inline letterpress plates performs three stages: washing, drying and illumination. The machine was developed based on the experience and requirements of 3 companies. CanPack (one of the world's largest manufacturers of beverage cans), as a user, Toyobo, as the largest manufacturer of letterpress plates, and PrintSystems, as a plate distributor and machine manufacturer.

The main benefits are:

  • full optimization of the processing, as we can freely control all sections in the machine and adjust them to the needs of each customer, (rotation speeds, height and directions of brushes, switching on and off selected sections, adjusting the amount of water and the speed of passage of the plate, etc.),

In the machine we can wash out all types of letterpress plates on steel and film substrates. To match the machine to the type of plates we need:

  • Adjust the transport plate, for example (plates on steel require magnetic transport plates, and plates on film require adhesive transport plates),
  • Before ordering, get information on what brushes (type of bristles, number in tufts, height, etc.) should be used to wash out the polymer,
  • know what thicknesses (e.g., 0.43 mm; 0.73 mm; 0.83 mm; 0.95 mm, etc.) of polymers will be leached on the device.

CAUTION: Washing out polymers from different manufacturers in the same machine will cause clogging of brushes, drains and is NOT recommended due to rapid fouling of the machine and decrease in the quality of the dies. The machine manufacturer does not take responsibility for this.

Daily activities:

  • Inspection of the condition, cleanliness and quality of all brushes (preferably before starting work),
  • rinsing the roller "sponge" (this is a technological requirement, since the absence of this action exposes the roller to permanent deformation or sealing).
    If the device is turned off for more than 24 hours, protect the roller in a humid environment (wet the roller and wrap it in stretch or place it in a specially prepared protective tube),
  • Checking the condition and possible replenishment of the medium in the chiller - chiller,
  • Current control of the state of cleanliness of magnets in the transport chain,
  • ongoing inspection of the state of cleanliness and adhesion of the transport plate (plate covered with magnetic tape or adhesive film),
  • Cleaning the filter in the tank designed to wash the carbon mask.

Activities every week:

  • Control of the cleanliness of the main tank,
  • Inspection and possible cleaning of sensors inside the machine,
  • Checking the patency of drainage pipes,
  • washing the machine inside.

Activities every month:

  • Checking the tension of the main drive chain,
  • Lubricate the drive chain with a waterproof preparation,
    (e.g.: synthetic PTFE lubricant - NSF H2).

Activities after a certain number of working hours:

  • Check and, if necessary, clean the filter on the water supply
    (every 600 hours of operation of the device),
  • Measure the stretch of the main drive chain (every 1000 hours of operation of the device). It is recommended that the measurement be performed by trained DUR (Maintenance Department) or Service personnel of the distributor or PrintSystems,
  • Checking the tension of the flat brush drive chain (every 1000 hours of operation of the device).

Additional comments:

  • The need for an inspection after the first 1000 h of operation of the device,
  • The device itself keeps track of the hours worked and will display the corresponding message on the operator panel.

CAUTION: The UV LED Lamp installed in the device must be protected from possible condensation that can damage it. Therefore, the room where the device will be operated must meet the appropriate requirements for humidity level and ambient temperature. Maintain an operating ambient temperature of 20 to 25℃ and humidity in the range of 40-80%. Avoid too rapid jumps in the above-mentioned parameters.

The processing (washing, drying, illuminating) takes from about 5 minutes in the fastest gear, to about 10 minutes 30 seconds in the slowest gear.

Every machine has Components that wear out during use and need to be replaced after some time of operation. The following is a list of QUICKER FLOW T100 machine components that may be considered fit for replacement or adjustment at various times: conveyor plates; bearings; rotary and flat brushes; "sponge" roller lining; chain guides (slides);

Although the UV LED lamp has a lifespan of about 20,000 h, this is calculated as continuous operation time and under ideal conditions. We guarantee 5,000 h of operation without any decrease in its power.

Water. The machine does not have a closed water cycle, which means that tap water is discharged into the sewer system after washing out the polymers. During the washing process, the machine consumes about 8.5 liters/minute, so in the fastest cycle it is about 43 liters per cycle, and in the slowest cycle it is 89 liters per cycle.

Current. It is also necessary to secure the demand for electricity connection power, due to the Components mainly used, heaters, flow heater and UV LED lamp.

The final costs incurred for operation and consumption of utilities may vary due to different utility tariff rates and the possibility of changes in washing parameters.

Yes, the device requires training in operation, which includes:

  • handling the control and setting the parameters of the device,
  • maintenance service from item No. 3,
  • support for service settings available after logging in
    (not accessible to the operator).

Training takes place during installation at the customer's site or during a training visit to our headquarters.

Recommendations for the installation room:

  • Ventilation and air conditioning of the room. The requirements of UV LED lamp
    are to keep the working environment temperature from 20 to 25 ℃ and humidity
    in the range of 40-80%. Avoid too rapid jumps in the above-mentioned parameters,
  • Installation of vapor extraction from the unit to the central mechanical ventilation in the building,
  • Electrical system with adequate power and with adequate protection (point 5);installation of running water;
  • sealed sewer drain.

Detailed guidelines for installation requirements will be sent to well in advance of the planned installation to prepare the room.

Recommendations for ongoing maintenance of the device:

  • The operator/operator should be trained in the operation and maintenance of the equipment;
  • operators must familiarize themselves with the DTR (technical and operating documentation);
  • Go through a checklist before starting work;
  • Checklist in point 3 (daily activities);
  • Wear goggles with UV filters when working with the UV LED lamp;
  • Wear protective gloves when handling transport plates.

Two groups of problems may arise during operation of the QUICKER FLOW T100:

Problems in obtaining quality matrices.

In this case, if the operator does not have sufficient skills to solve the problem himself, it is recommended to act in order:

  • Analysis of individual processing starting with laser ablation,
  • Checking that all steps are performed properly and in accordance with previous laws on the machine,
  • Contact with photopolymer supplier,
  • Contact the machine supplier (distributor or manufacturer).

Problems with the operation of the device.

All problems/problems can be traced on the operator panel in the tab with an exclamation mark. For troubleshooting the most common problems, refer to the user manual. If this does not help, contact the device supplier (distributor or manufacturer) to try to remotely solve the problem. We recommend describing the problem in detail and possibly recording videos of the incident or problem.

During installation, the device is preset for a specific type of photopolymer plates.

Setting is subject to:

  • Printing plate transition speed,
  • brush speeds,
  • Brush height and pressure,
  • The amount and temperature of water fed, etc.

We do not set the parameters of mask ablation and main exposure, because these data are known to the customer.

The device is ready to work as soon as it is turned on. Thanks to the use of a flow-through water heater, the water is at the right temperature as soon as you start it up. There is no need to wait for the water in the tank to heat up. Also, thanks to the use of UV LED illumination, the power of the lamp is obtained from the moment it is turned on and matched to the specific plate being treated.

When designing the QUICKER FLOW washer, we took care of the comfort of the operators. The size of the transport plate, and therefore its weight, allows it to be moved freely without having to carry heavy materials.
