QUICKER Automation

Description and Specifications

Enjoy the benefits of automation, optimize the process, make better use of operator time!

Special connectors of the QUICKER C washer allow the QUICKER AF feeder and QUICKER AR receiver to be connected to the machine at any time of use. Simple control of the operation of the equipment with a single potentiometer on the feeder, with which the operator adjusts the washing speed to the degree of soiling of the plates.

  • Full automation of the process - the feeder allows loading up to 25 plates at a time;
  • Better use of human resources - the automatic AF feeder eliminates time-consuming insertion of printing plates into the washer by the operator. Even when the washer is set to run at its fastest speed in an average print shop, it can take up to several hours a day.
  • Automation allows more efficient use of operator time - reducing it by up to 90%, and the return on investment is calculated in months, not years.

Frequently asked questions

The working widths of QUICKER C-series photopolymer washers are specified in their names, i.e. QUICKER C66 - working width 66 cm, C96 - working width 96 cm, C140 - working width 140 cm. Working width means that the maximum width of the plate inserted into the machine must not exceed the above-mentioned width.

The washers, by virtue of their design, do not have a limitation on the length of the washed plate, as the process is linear. We have a limitation in the widths as described in point No. 1 and in the minimum length. This limitation is due to the spacing of the rollers in the machine. In order for the machine to move the slab, the moment one section releases the slab, another section of rollers must already be holding it. Therefore, the minimum length is 20 cm.

This is an important question, because we often encounter that the current washers on the market pull in. In our washers, we have used such a way of guiding the plate inside so that even a bent plate has no chance to fall into the tank or come out the top. E.g.:

  • The gaps by which the plate most often falls into the tank in other washers are reduced to a minimum with us and set during installation on the gap gauge.
  • We also used a system of milled shafts complete with matching guide forks in such a way that the distorted plate also does not come out the top (see the photo below).

These solutions minimize almost to zero the risk of plates being pulled in through the bottom or going out through the top. Below in the photo you have shown some of the elements that prevent plates from being pulled in.

Yes, the plates come out dry.
The drying section is made up of the following components listed below in the order in which the plate passes through the machine:

  • a roller made of very soft porous rubber (Sponge Roll), which separates the rinsing section from the drying chamber and makes the plate into the drying section wet, but without visible water droplets.
  • Two blower heaters along the entire length of the washer with a thermic to prevent excessive heat. An air nozzle is also installed to distribute the blow evenly across the width to dry more thoroughly. What role does the thermic have? Plates are made of polyester on the bottom and polymer on top, and polyester at temperatures above 70-80℃ can become deformed, so we have the aforementioned thermic protection installed in our washers to prevent the temperature from rising dangerously high for Printing plate.
  • top roller (Sponge Roll) and a drying roller from underneath, which ensures thorough drying from underneath as well.

This design of the drying unit, ensures that the plate is dry after the washing process and ready for reprinting.

We use two solutions to cool the lamp:To enjoy a long life of the device, it is necessary to take care of its condition during use. What we recommend is detailed in the user's manual, but below are the main things to do at different intervals. Every day, once a week, once a month or every 6 months.

Below is a list of the most important of these:

  • Check the level and cleanliness of the detergent. Replace if dirty or insufficient in the tank
  • Change the water in the rinse tank
  • Clean the table at the entrance of the machine (if installed)
In case of feeders it is not there
  • Take care of the cleanliness of the sensor in the input table (if equipped) For feeders are installed in the feeders
  • Clean drive shafts with ethyl alcohol
  • Replace detergent and water filters
  • Replace separation roller lagging when it wears out
  • Check that the brushes press appropriately for the thickness of the plates during washing
  • Take care of proper lubrication of the drive chain.

All these steps are taught during installation.

Prices depend on accessories such as feeders and receiver. They do not include transportation and installation costs.

What is the reason for the above equipment prices?

The QUICKER C machine is built from 1,373 components. Their quantity, quality and complexity are the result of several requirements:

  • The need for good durable materials that are resistant to chemicals and their vapors.
  • The big complexity of running the plate, as it is the most variable element. There are printers that have flat plates after printing, and there are some that have them distorted. The machine must be able to wash each of them, without screwing, blocking inside or pulling into the tank. This generates costs in the form of special guide forks, milled transport rollers, precision in adjusting table slots and lower transport rollers, and so on.
  • Application of industrial solutions, which means that we do not buy components, for example, on Internet portals, but use Components dedicated to continuous operation in harsh conditions.

Our team of designers, automation engineers, electricians and fitters made these devices in Bytków near Poznań, Poland. We use European suppliers of components and materials. The solutions used are industrial and generally available worldwide, as we cooperate with international companies.

QUICKER C machine is built from 1,373 components. Their quantity, quality and complexity are due to several requirements:Yes. Certainly during the warranty. Why is this so? The machine consists of many components such as pumps, pipes, tanks, bearings, transport rollers, dryers, housings, printing inks and so on. Each of these components has been tested by us for resistance to chemicals and their vapors found in cleaning agents dedicated to our washers. Therefore, we can be sure that the components used will not be damaged during use. Using others that have not been tested by us risks damaging the machine, for which we do not want to be responsible.

Even comparing product sheets to select a similar detergent from a competitor is not helpful, as manufacturers are not required to list all the substances contained in the sheets.

Besides, there are drying heaters in the machine that can ONLY work with substances that are not marked as flammable on the safety data sheets.

Yes. You can freely configure your device using the modular components of the washing process automation system.

To be selected in individual configuration:

  • Work surface with sensor detecting the plate
  • Belt feeder type SA66, SA96
  • SRP roller infeed table
  • Automatic feeder type AF66, AF96, AF140
  • Automatic receiver (C66 only) type AR66

This is a common question from customers who want to buy a wider machine than the plates they want to wash.

Example: the QUICKER C96 machine with a width of 96 cm for washing printing plates with a width of 45 cm, in such a way as to insert two plates at once. Theoretically this is possible, but in practice it happens that during washing the plates move across the machine and when they overlap one on top of the other they can be destroyed. We do not recommend such use of the machine. The number of sensors in the machine is also a limitation. A sensor that detects one of the printing plates will "read" it as a reference. The other one is invisible to the machine at that time. This can cause many complications and risks. However, we can install 2 sensors at the special request of the customer and at his responsibility as to possible faults.

Why washing equipment printing plates after printing brand QUICKER?

Process automation - time savings and repeatable quality

QUICKER equipment eliminates the need for manual washing of printing plates, which significantly reduces the preparation time for the next order and increases the comfort of operators. The cleaning process is fully automatic - from the application of the cleaning agent, through the work of the brushes, to rinsing and drying.

With pre-programmed cleaning parameters, each plate is returned to the same predictable boothard. Expanded versions can include an automatic feeder, integrated dryer and receiving station - creating a fully independent cleaning line.
