Pre-Press Room water CtP - TOMEX expands its own capabilities
TOMEX Tomasz Wozniczko company was established in January 2010. The main goal of the company is to meet the ever-increasing needs of the rapidly growing market for automatic identification and marking of products.

In order to meet the demands and boothards of the market, the company has purchased state-of-the-art label production machines and thermal transfer Web slitting machines. These investments allow us to offer a wide range of products and very short lead times. The exceptional commitment of the staff and the desire for continuous development makes TOMEX printing house a professional and significant entity in the self-adhesive materials processing industry.
We focus on creating comprehensive solutions involving the supply of thermal transfer printers and consumables in the form of self-adhesive labels and Webs. Our company is first and foremost a young and dynamic team of constantly developing label production specialists, which has been meeting the expectations of the market in terms of graphic design since the beginning of its activity. We carry out projects for our customers comprehensively starting with the selection of appropriate tools, assistance in the application, technical advice, up to the implementation of label production

We compared available CtP technologies and machine models available on the market, sent requests for proposals to many companies, invited selected entities for talks and presentations of their solutions, and made several trips to verify how the potential solution works in practice in other companies. We selected, to our knowledge, the optimal solution in terms of technical and economic parameters, and solutions involving the purchase of used equipment were also considered

In-house CtP pre-press - a conscious choice
Eventually it was decided to purchase a new AURA Amsky 600 CtP laser with software, which fully meets the needs of the printing house. The in-house pre-press was equipped with processors for processing water-washed polymer printing plates /exposure and washing machine/. An important piece of equipment purchased in the set was an Epson proofing machine, which enables quick printing of proofs for the client and for internal use. The entire investment in pre-press equipment was accompanied by the implementation of TOYOBO water-washed flexo plate processing technology.
Why Print Systems?
In response to the precisely defined needs of the TOMEX printing house, Print Systems proposed a complete and complementary set of equipment comprising the polymer production line, as well as providing technical support for implementation and graphic support for the DTP studio. The essence of the change was to move from a model of ordering polymers from external companies to processing files and producing polymers in-house. The use of water-washed TOYOBO flexo printing plates in production made it possible to achieve the expected high print quality and get rid of harmful solvent.
The investment in our own pre-press room allows us to respond more quickly to incoming orders, especially those with a very short lead time (i.e. someone forgot to order). We are able to literally "save" the customer by flexibly adjusting the work schedule. Thanks to this investment, we have the ability to invite the customer to a test print with the option of making corrections, such as color changes, on the spot, with the customer. We have been able to free ourselves from the often-occurring complications of stopping work altogether with damaged polymer. Now resuming production has become a matter of a few dozen minutes, instead of one or two days as before

Digital has it easier
For TOMEX, a huge advantage of having its own digital pre-press is the ability to quickly print cromalin (even if the customer does not require it) for its own needs. This allows, even before the start of printing, to make sure or confirm the expected quality, correct colors and compliance with customer requirements. As a result, the printer is 100% sure of the high quality level of production. Interestingly, thanks to the introduction of CtP technology, TOMEX is developing in-house testing work. It can carry out independent tests without restrictions, and immediately translate the conclusions/results of the experiments carried out into a new polymer or another new test. Such capabilities shorten the research process to one day, without the need to postpone further printing steps.
