It’s only been a year since our company Print Systems started producing modern flexo and letterpress plate cleaners and we’ve already launched the revolutionary and reliable QUICKER AF18 automatic plate feeder. This innovative device is synchronised and compatible with every model of our QUICKER C plate cleaners. Together they act like a semi-automatic washing machine, which significantly reduces the total costs of the feeding process and the cleaning of the printing plates.
Automatic plates feeder – how it works?
This solution allows for a single loading of up to 18 plates, each in a separate drawer. When the feeder is connected to the QUICKER C cleaner, both machines are automatically synchronized. Once plates are loaded, one START button on the feeder starts the whole process. The feeder automatically detects in which drawer a plate is present. When the plate is located, the drawer stops at the level of the feeding table and the plate is transported into the cleaner. The process is repeated automatically until all drawers with plates in them are empty. The result is a perfectly washed, dry and ready re-use plate. The operator’s role is limited to loading and starting the process with the START button.
Countable benefits
According to the research carried out among our customers, an average printing house with 4 printing presses has roughly 320 plates to wash daily. It is easy to calculate that the annual time devoted to such activity as waiting to insert another plate into the plate cleaner is 600 hours. That is 4 months of work per employee! With the QUICKER AF18 automatic feeder, we can reduce this time by 90%! The annual reduction of labour costs is therefore significant.
The second aspect in favour of automatization of the plate feeding and washing process is the extension of their re-use ability. This is hard to convert into money, but we know that this aspect is also important for many printing houses.
